International model and Youth spokesperson for Youth for Human Rights Canada Amanda Mallett and Ghulam Sajan, Ontario Human Rights Commissioner, launched a petition to implement the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) across Canada. The petition is addressed to Prime Minister Stephen Harper to urge him to have the UDHR disseminated, displayed and taught in schools and other educational institutions.

The UDHR contains thirty basic universal human rights and has been adopted by 191 countries including Canada. But it is little known by most citizens. Youth for Human Rights Canada by launching this petition is raising awareness about the UDHR and the rights that it guarantees to every person.

"Human rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream," stated Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
